How cute is this?? **WARNING** Girly post, ahoy.

I’m seriously considering getting all my clothes from Etsy from now on.  I mean, how sweet is it to get unique handmade clothes specifically tailored, just for you?  I can never find anything I like in the malls and have never been happy with the way I look in some of the more popular trends.  Nothing I try on in the stores seems to fit just right.

I’m also digging the retro 40’sish (I hesitate to use the term “rockabilly” because I’m not… really) style as I’ve been a rather curvy lady (not fat! curvy.) since I learned how to keep weight on my previously skeletal frame in my mid 20’s.  A lot of the current styles have neglected to emphasize the fact that I do have a waist (25″, thank you, I’ve worked hard for it) and only made my hips and ass look extra wide (36″).

I’m in love with this cute little number but I don’t know if I want to fork over $120 for it.  As a SAHM, I also have no clue where I would actually wear such a thing.

I’m also all squee over some of these 1950’s style dresses, but again, where would I wear this?  My current wardrobe consists of men’s pajama pants and t-shirts covered in baby food.

I dunno, I already ordered a sweet little corset off of Etsy and I absolutely heart it to death.  No, I’m not going to post a picture of me in it for you as I don’t want to unwittingly provide more pr0n materials for the internets, fanks.  I like that I can wear it under my frumpy house clothes and still feel like a small part of me is still girly.

How I spend my Sundays

We’re supposed to go out to eat tonight and yet for some reason I’ve got this hair up my ass about cleaning.  So instead of getting ready, I’m stripped to my skivvies and Tilexing my bathroom floor.  After almost passing out from the fumes I’ve got every window in the house thrown open despite the warmish weather and the ac being on.

I still don’t understand why it says, very clearly, on the bottle “Use only in well-ventilated areas.” Isn’t moisture and lack of ventilation the reason the mold or mildew is there in the first place??  I also don’t understand why we bought this (read: I didn’t buy it) when the main active ingredient in Tilex is bleach.  And we have bleach.  A huge freaking jug of it that probably cost about the same as the little bottle of Tilex.

Friday I spent most of the morning scrubbing the carpets, and I’ve vacuumed twice since then.  Wednesday was spent doing laundry.

I’m starting to think that cleaning has become a major factor in my life at the moment.  Don’t think it’s quite crossed over into the realm of obsession since I’m hardly a neat freak but this is all I seem to be doing lately.

Oh, and while I’m here, I’d just like to say that I adore my husband.  As much as I may joke about him at times, he really is pretty stellar compared to most guys in that department.  Maybe it’s because he’s a Virgo, or maybe it’s residual Army custodial training, I dunno.  As long as I bag up the trash and put it by the front door, he takes it out without question or complaint, and without fail.  He likes to cook and he’s great at it.  He’s an awesome Dad and the look Shake gives him whenever he’s near just melts my heart.  And right now?  He’s just gathered his cleaning supplies and he’s begun to scrub his* bathroom while keeping an eye on the little girl at the same time.  Either I’ve inadvertently guilted him into this by cleaning my own bathroom, or the cleaning bug is highly contagious, but whichever is the case, I wont question it.  Hell, when I saw him getting ready, I asked, “Oh, are you cleaning your bathroom?” to which he affirmed and I could only exclaim, “That’s AWESOME!”

* There are two bathrooms in the apartment and when we moved in, he claimed one and I claimed the other. I find that separate bathrooms are just one key to a happy and harmonious marriage. As are separate closets, but that was our last apartment. The new house should have closets aplenty.

The things my husband does in his spare time

Lifting weights.

And stripping for the ladies on his webcam.

For those of you who have had the opportunity to chat with this man online, you should know that what you see is what you get.  While others may consciously or unconsciously put on a different persona while online, this Mr. H is no different in the chat room than he is in real life.

Okay, I’m done for sure this time.  Until after October 31st, at least.

Still working on that photo blog.

When does a hobby turn into a business?

No, really, when does it?  Who’s going to drink all that?!?! Time for a liquor license, guys.  May as well make it profitable.  ;)

See you soon, Mom.  Can’t wait to show you and Dad the new house.  I’ll give you a call once my phone is done charging.

Happy Thanksgiving

Got the turkey worked on a bit more tonight.  He’s still far from finished; eventually he might even be colored in!  I’m still waiting for that part.  Right now all the red is from irritation.  I think next time will just be a bit more shading along with lining in some spiffy tail feathers down my back.  Then more shading…  Aaaand then color?   I’ll keep you posted.

I’m cleaning my house, already, quit reminding me.  I’ve yet to figure out how the place can stay clean all week, but the moment my husband gets a few days off the whole apartment goes to shit.  And I do mean “the moment”.  The second he walks in the door I’m all, “What the hell happened???”

And Jeebus forbid I leave it for two days straight.  Right now I’m up to my eyeballs in garbage.

I’m at a loss.  This defies all logic.  Three humans couldn’t possibly be this messy.

Must’ve been the cats…

Fuck you, Internet Explorer

I haven’t changed in a little while (ew!) so I figured it was high time.  This is also my favoritest time of year so I’m decorating early.  Hey, if the stores can have their Halloween junk up then so can I.

I’ve also started fall clean-up.  My MIL has The Shake today, Mr. Husband is working on his “around town” (beater) car and, really, I should be cleaning my apartment and getting it ready for the impending move, but I’m in the office mucking out my home on the interwebs — fixing images, adding a new gallery, and toying with adding a photo blog so I won’t have to use things like flickr.

If something looks royally borked, then this is probably why.  Let me know if I’ve screwed anything up beyond repair.  That happens sometimes.

(Update!) Damn it.  I find a great theme and it screws up on MSIE.  Then I go looking for more themes and none of them are just right.  *grumbles and continues the hunt*

(UpdateUpdate!) Gosh darned it!  How could you all let me forget it was Talk Like A Pirate Day (yesterday), AGAIN!  I need to mark it on my calendar for next year.  -_-’

Count the dots

I’ve always hated math.  It’s not because I don’t understand it, it’s just that I’m constantly second-guessing my answers and making stupid mistakes.  Whenever I got my tests back, even if I only got one wrong, I would always end up doing a *headdesk* and wonder what the hell I was thinking because my screwups were always so obvious.

I’ve also always been more of a visual person so things like sequences and geometry came easily to me.

This test may explain all that.  I scored a 25/25 and was tempted to keep going until I realized that I could be doing something more productive than counting dots.  Productive things like playing Scramble on Facebook.  ;)
