How cute is this?? **WARNING** Girly post, ahoy.

September 29th, 2008

I’m seriously considering getting all my clothes from Etsy from now on.  I mean, how sweet is it to get unique handmade clothes specifically tailored, just for you?  I can never find anything I like in the malls and have never been happy with the way I look in some of the more popular trends.  Nothing I try on in the stores seems to fit just right.

I’m also digging the retro 40’sish (I hesitate to use the term “rockabilly” because I’m not… really) style as I’ve been a rather curvy lady (not fat! curvy.) since I learned how to keep weight on my previously skeletal frame in my mid 20’s.  A lot of the current styles have neglected to emphasize the fact that I do have a waist (25″, thank you, I’ve worked hard for it) and only made my hips and ass look extra wide (36″).

I’m in love with this cute little number but I don’t know if I want to fork over $120 for it.  As a SAHM, I also have no clue where I would actually wear such a thing.

I’m also all squee over some of these 1950’s style dresses, but again, where would I wear this?  My current wardrobe consists of men’s pajama pants and t-shirts covered in baby food.

I dunno, I already ordered a sweet little corset off of Etsy and I absolutely heart it to death.  No, I’m not going to post a picture of me in it for you as I don’t want to unwittingly provide more pr0n materials for the internets, fanks.  I like that I can wear it under my frumpy house clothes and still feel like a small part of me is still girly.

i think that fits your look nicely. you have that dark hair pale skin combo (i think. it could be the soft glow of the monitor haha). there’s tons of retro dresses out there for cheap. i got two of mine after prom season when they were all on clearance. shit yo, you don’t need places to wear things to! i am going to wear this around whenever. corsets are always win. the one you selected is unique :D fredericks has a lot of curve friendly garments, and i just bought this corset in merlot. ooooh. i like to dress fun at home because i wear business clothes to work. just get dark colors and the baby food will be barely visible!

I’m into vintage underwear…well, according to my wife I am. Seems she’s ready to throw out several pair of my moth-eaten briefs. I only got ‘em six years ago. Like new, in my book.

That must be a guy thing. Mr. H still has skivvy shirts from basic. 18 years ago… The only reason he doesn’t wear them anymore is because they forced him to get lighter-colored shirts to go with those horrid new ACUs.

I heart that pink halter dress….

thing is, I do not have a waist and cannot wear anything cinched in. I am envious that you can…

I love some of the designers on ETSY, but the prices are soooo $$$

I suppose the worksmanship has to be better than what we are getting from Sri Lanka
